Ok, ok...it's been way too long

Our cute little man hanging out.

Dakota worn out from all the xmas excitement.

Collette and Dakota on Sunday morning before xmas.

Collette at her 3rd bday party!

We have had such a wonderful time since Dakota was born. We feel so blessed to have two beautiful, healthy kids. Collette and Dakota are both growing like crazy. At Collette's 3 year appt. she weighed 36lbs and 9.6oz and was 39inches. Dakota at his 2wk appt was 6lbs 12oz and 20in. He is now well over 8lbs and starting to get some rolls. Collette is a great big sister. She takes kisses and hugs Dakota all the time. She never wants to leave him with anyone else and if anyone asks if they can keep Dakota she always says "You get your own baby!". She is very attached. Dakota likes to eat and sleep a lot. He is good about being patient and waiting for things though.
Troy is still liking his job. He didn't realize how much he missed being in an office with other people.
I am on xmas break right now. I have to go back to school on Jan 14th. I am looking forward to getting another semester down. Only one year and I will be an RN!!!! I have also applied to take my LPN test this year. I am hoping that I will hear back about that soon. The good thing about that is that I will get a raise and be able to fill more positions at work. Again, just trying to make myself a little more valuable.
That's about it for now. I hope that everyone had great holidays.

Baby Kota is Here!

Yesturday, I got a call from Kellie at 11:30 telling me that her water broke. Five and a half hours later our son, Dakota Lewis Carter, was born. He weighed in at 6 lbs 12 oz and was 19 and 3/4 inches long. Today we had some in hospital posed pictures taken and you can view them at http://www.our365.com/webnursery/webnursery/Baby/BabyPageDirect.aspx?CID=0018051219.

Our stroke of bad luck

Well, most of you know that I have developed Bell's Palsy in the last couple of weeks. Right now there is no significant improvement and my face just hurts most of the time. But I am dealing. Well, now Collette has come down with pink eye in both eyes. Her poor little face is red and swollen and she has gunk coming out of both eyes. On top of all of this we are limited on medical insurance because Troy got a new job. So, needless to say the gods of irony are really taking advantage of our situation (as is usually the case). Dec 1st we will have full insurance again, so if we could just hold out a few more days....
Please pray that Collette and I get better soon, so that we can get through the next couple of weeks before Baby Dakota gets here.
Troy seems to be staying pretty healthy through all of this though, thankfully. We need someone around here who can take care of us poor sick people.
Hopefully, my next post will be good news and Collette and I will be on the road to recovery!

Thanksgiving

Hey guys! We hope that all of you had a great Thanksgiving. We did out in Mulhill, OK(just North of Guthrie, OK). That's were my Grandparents and Aunt and Uncle live now. It was nice to get out of the city and just relax, and eat, of course. We took Collette and Aubree's little 4 wheelers out and they really enjoyed getting to ride wherever they wanted. We ate way too much, but it was all so good. My Grandmother is a great cook, so it's hard not to get stuffed.
Troy and I just have a few more things to do before the baby gets here. Once we get the kids room done I will post pics of how it all turned out! We will post more later! Have a great holiday weekend and enjoy "Black Friday", for all of you who enjoy the craziness of this day.

We gave in!!!

Well, we decided to get a blog. I am really going to try to be better about posting things on this site. No promises though!

Updates: Collette is a big almost 3 year old. She is potty trained and such a big girl. She is ready to bring her new Baby Kota(Dakota) back to our house. Day to day it changes on whether she wants a baby brother or baby sister. At least she's not dead set on one or the other. That will make things a little easier whenever the baby gets here.

We went to see Santa the other day and she talked to him and set next to him for about five minutes. She told him that she wanted paints for xmas. Then a couple of minutes later she looked at Santa and said, "Where's my present?". Santa laughed and told her that she would get it on xmas. She seemed a little disappointed, but was ok with that answer. Now she asks everyday if she can see Santa. She is really silly.

I am now 35 1/2 weeks along. I am ready for this semester to be over, then to have a baby. It will all be here soon. School is going well. We are in OB right now, so I'm not as stressed as I was at the beginning of the semester. I have come down with Bell's Palsy. I have had it once before when I was in high school. So, as soon as my symptoms started I went to the doctor to get on some meds. It kind of stinks that I can't use half of my face, but I am dealing with it. I am hoping to be back to normal by the time the baby gets here. We are looking forward to having another little one in the house. I am feeling good, as far as my pregnancy goes, even though I am a little tired.

Troy started his new job at the end of October. He is really enjoying being back in an office with other people. The only thing that he doesn't like is the drive to and from work. He's getting used to it though. He will have to explain more work stuff later. Enjoy the pics! And we will write more soon.

Here is a cute video of Collette singing a song. She really likes to sing and even make up her own songs.
